PM heads new emergency centre

Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has set up a centre to tackle tourism-related emergencies, to be headed by the permanent secretary for tourism and sports.

The operation centre was announced in the Royal Gazette on Saturday, almost two weeks after the country reopened on Nov 1 to international tourists.

The order was signed on Nov 12. The centre and its staff are part of the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) that he chairs.
