Alex Ng took the helm as CEO of Kerry Express (Thailand) Plc (KEX) in 2013. He was responsible for leading its transformation from a small delivery firm into the country's leading express delivery company employing more than 25,000 people.

He has improved its services based on a "Kerry Express Everywhere" strategy to ensure customers can send parcels nationwide with ease.

To grow the business, Kerry Express implemented various strategies to attract customers, especially online vendors.

The company has also reduced its parcel delivery fees, offered promotions and increased privileges for customers, especially for members of the Kerry Express Loyalty Club who can accumulate and use Kerry Points to claim discounts and privileges at leading stores nationwide.

Mr Ng has lived in Thailand for 13 years and has been with the Kerry Group for over two decades. He says his passion for expanding the business has never faded.

Many corporate people only talk about caring for their customers and staff but the KEX CEO said he puts this into practice on a daily basis. His top priorities are the well-being of his employees, creating profit for the group's shareholders, and providing great service to customers, he said.

Kerry Express has been voted the No.1 brand in Thailand for four consecutive years. In 2021, the company won a landslide victory in all provinces with nearly 70% of overall votes while the first runner-up got less than 20%.

Mr Ng has listed the company on the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), after having made it one of the most valuable and best-recognised companies in Thailand.

Since its listing, KEX has seen strong growth based on solid governance and forward-looking strategies, taking the company to the next level. Listing on the SET marked the first step in this long-term vision.

Under Mr Ng's leadership, KEX has recorded notable successes, including recovering from losses to see a 25% increase in profit to 135 million baht in 12 months.

It has also raised over 2 billion baht in capital from a venture fund and gained over 1 million downloads of its business application within 14 months.

On top of that, KEX has implemented a five-year sustainability programme and received an international award for sustainable operations.

Established in 2006, Kerry Express has more than 15,000 service points and over 1,000 distribution centres throughout the country. It is capable of handling 1.9 million parcels per day with more than 20,000 vehicles to deliver to recipients.

"Our mission is to support the growth of e-commerce, social commerce, retail and wholesale -- which are among the engines driving the economy," Mr Ng says.
