GLO adds 2m digital lottery tickets

The Government Lottery Office (GLO) board yesterday approved the sale of another two million e-lottery tickets, meaning a total of seven million will be available on the Pao Tang mobile app for the Aug 1 draw.

GLO chairman Lavaron Sangsnit, a board member and spokesman for the office, said the tickets for that can be purchased from July 17.

He said the GLO may add another two million tickets for the subsequent draw if these again sell out quickly.

However, the government needs to balance online lottery ticket sales with the interests of retail vendors. People can buy e-lottery tickets for 80 baht each.

The GLO will add up to two million e-tickets at a time and the total will not exceed 20 million per draw by year's end, he said.

For the GLO's 80-baht lottery stalls, there are 754 spots available at petrol stations nationwide.

The office said it expects to see 1,077 spots in total within this year.
