She was among four people whose new positions at the CMP were affirmed by the cabinet on Tuesday, said deputy government spokeswoman, Traisuree Taisaranakul.

Prof Udom Rathamarit, Methinee Thepmanee and Thapani Ajarawong were also named to join the CMP board, she added.

The cabinet also approved the appointment of Anukul Peedkaeo, director-general of the Department of Social Development and Welfare, as permanent secretary of the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, she said.

He will assume his new post on Oct 1 as the outgoing permanent secretary will retire on Sept 30, Ms Traisuree said.

The appointment of Pawit Chaloemwat by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment as the new director of the Botanical Garden Organisation (BGO) was also approved on the same day.

Mr Pawit's appointment was retroactive, as he had been approved by the BGO's board on Feb 22, Ms Traisuree said.
