The Crown Prince of the Malaysian state of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, arrived in Phuket for a royal tour on Friday.

The prince was welcomed by deputy governor Amnuai Pinsuwan, as well as several local agencies, who wished him a pleasant stay on the island.

The prince visited a mosque and tourist sites around tambon Kamala, after which he said he was pleased to see Muslims and Buddhists coexist in peace. He also made a donation to a local organisation.

The head of tambon Kamala administrative organisation, Jutha Dumlak, said the visit will help bolster relations between Thailand and Malaysia.

The prince also extended his thanks to residents who warmly welcomed him when he arrived, Mr Jutha said.
