Two hurt in student brawls

Brawls between groups of students at vocational schools reportedly broke out in two spots in Bangkok yesterday. Two injuries were reported.

A source said the first inter-college clash took place in front of Condominium Lumpini Ville, opposite Soi On Nut 70/1 in Prawet district on Thursday evening.

A video clip showed an exchange of gunfire and ping pong bombs between students from two unidentified schools, while people nearby were also caught in the crossfire. However, there were no casualties. Another clash reportedly occurred near the Nimibutr Sport Building by the National Stadium Station in Pathumwan district at about 5.40pm.

Pathumwan police said about 60 Pathumwan Institute of Technology students clashed with a group of 50 students from Rajamangala Institute of Technology Tawan-ok Uthenthawai campus. Two Uthentawai students were reportedly injured.
