Chutinant Bhirombhakdi, president and CEO of Boon Rawd Brewery Co Ltd, has died in the United States where he was seeking medical treatment for an undisclosed illness. He was 65.

He was pronounced dead at a hospital in Boston at 11.50pm (Thailand time). 

Chutinant was the third generation Bhirompakdi to run the country’s well-known brewery company. Graduated with an economics degree from Boston University and post-graduate programmes in business management from Harvard University, he served as president and CEO of Boon Rawd Brewery as well as chairman of the board of directors at Singha Estate Public Co Ltd and chairman of C B Holding Co Ltd, among other high-level executive positions. 

Chutinant also held the post of president of the Paralympic Committee of Thailand and was credited with the success of many paralympic athletes. 

Thailand's national paralympic national team mourned his passing by blacking out their social media profile pictures. 

Maj Gen Intarat Yodbangtoey, honourary president of the Thai Amateur Weightlifting Association (TAWA), sent his message of condolences to Chutinant's family.

Chutinant is survived by his wife, Khunying Piyapat, and their three children, Chitpas “Tant” Kridakorn, Nantaya “Tui” Bhirombhakdi and Lt Naiyanobh “Toy” Bhirombhakdi. Ms Chitpas is a Democrat Party MP.
