The Foundation for the Volunteers Defence under the Royal Patronage of Her Majesty the Queen will host a golf tournament on Nov 29, the proceeds from which will be donated to a charity.

The winner of the tournament, which is co-organised by the Territorial Defence Corps, the Interior Ministry, and the Department of Provincial Administration, will also receive a trophy from Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother, the organisers said.

The organising committee is expecting about 80 teams of four people each to take part in the tournament.

Part of the proceeds from the event will be used to support the foundation's operations, which include covering the medical expenses of volunteers injured while on duty or compensating their relatives in the case of death.

Part of the income from the charity golf tournament will be presented to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother as a contribution to her charity fund.
