PATTANI: A ranger volunteer was injured by a bomb thrown at a security checkpoint in Yaring district on Tuesday night, police said.

The attack occurred about 8pm. Two men arrived on a motorcycle and the pillion rider threw a pipe bomb at the security checkpoint at Moo 1 village on Highway 42 (Pattani-Yala) in tambon Tanyong Chung-nga.

Ranger volunteer Sirisak Noomak was injured by the explosion. He was admitted to Yaring Hospital.
