The Sustainability Expo 2023 (SX 2023), the largest such event in the Asean region, will be held at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC) in Khlong Toei district, Bangkok, from Sept 29 to Oct 8.

Tongjai Thanachanan, the SX director, told the media on Tuesday the now-annual event will be held for a fourth year and will focus on “Good Balance, Better World” philosophy.

The event will highlight sustainability trends and innovations, and honour His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua who maintains and extends royal projects for the benefit and happiness of the people.

The expo will have the theme “Sufficiency for Sustainability”, following the sufficiency economy philosophy initiated by His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great (Rama IX). SX 2023 will be hosted by Thai Beverage along with four partners — Frasers Property, PTT Global Chemical, Siam Cement Group (SCG) and Thai Union Group.

More than 100 organisations, 250 guest speakers and 500 regional and global sustainable business networks are invited to take part, while about 320,000 people are expected to attend the 10-day event.

It features five zones: "SEP Inspiration" to share sufficiency economy philosophy ideas; "Better Me" to help people learn to live with others from different generations happily; "Better Living" to promote activities or projects by leading companies focusing on a clean environment and circular economy; "Better Community" to promote equality; and "Better World" to exhibit arts related to sustainability.
