Music artists, including Lalisa Manoban, or Lisa Blackpink, are the most popular people kids would like to meet on Children's Day, which falls on Saturday, according to a survey conducted by the Culture Ministry and Suan Dusit Poll.

In the opinion survey involving 21,627 children across the country, the most popular activity is concerts and music shows, with artists such as Lisa topping the list of desired encounters.

Cash was named as the most preferred gift, followed by smartphones/tablets/laptops and a trip with their family. On which problems they think need to be urgently solved, the use of narcotic drugs came first, followed by education and violence, be it physical or emotional.

Asked what they would like to tell their parents the most on this special day, most said they wished the family could spend time together and hoped their parents would be more supportive of them.

Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin posted a clip on social media on Friday pledging to work for a better future for Thai children.

At Government House, which is open to children on Saturday, dozens of Happy New Year cards sent to the PM by young people are being displayed at the Banchakarn Building.
