Police arrest 4, seize drugs, vape pods

Four suspects -- two Singaporeans, one Filipina and a Thai -- have been arrested for selling illicit drugs and vaping devices.

Commander of the Patrol and Special Operation Division, Pol Maj Gen Worawit Yanchinda, on Friday led a team of officers to arrest two Singaporean men, aged 23 and 28, a Filipina woman, 25, and a Thai woman, 24.

Several illegal items were seized from the suspects, including e-cigarette pods containing methamphetamine and heroin, "happy water" drugs, ecstasy, ketamine, crystal methamphetamine and nimetazepam.

Along with the illicit items, the officers also seized their smartphones, cash cards, bank books and 376,000 baht in cash.

The suspects were arrested at two condominiums in Bang Kapi sub-district of Bangkok's Huai Khwang district.

The police raid came after the Patrol and Special Operation Division learned about secret sales of vape mouthpieces that contain methamphetamine, commonly referred to as "Pod K".

The agency found these mouthpieces were sold on the Line application for 4,000 baht per piece or 7,000 baht for two pieces. When a buyer places an order, the seller would deliver the pods via a Grab delivery service.

The police later found that some suspects resided at a condominium in the Thong Lor area.

The police managed to find the first suspect, a Singaporean man, at the condo. He led the police to his room, where the Thai female suspect and vape pods were found. The two suspects said that they had another room at another condominium in the Rama IX area. The officers then raided the room and found the other Singaporean suspect and a Filipina woman, along with their drugs and vape pods.

The four suspects have been charged with possession of Category 1 narcotics and sales of e-cigarette products.
