Rescue workers had to act quickly to free a toddler trapped in a hot pickup truck for over 30 minutes in Buri Ram province on Saturday.

Siam Ruam Jai Foundation rescuers were called to save the child stuck in the black pickup at the Sa Ya Ma market in Nang Rong district.

Upon arrival, rescuers met the boy’s mother, who said her son was only one year and six months old.

The operation to free the child took about five minutes. The boy was found covered in perspiration due to the intense heat inside the vehicle. Despite the ordeal, he was in safe condition, according to reports.

The mother admitted to leaving her son in the pickup while attending to business in a nearby mobile phone shop. She said she had left the air conditioner on and the vehicle running while she was in the store for about 30 minutes. However, when she returned to the pickup, she found that the engine had stopped and the doors were locked.

The mother said she suspected her son had accidentally locked the doors and pressed the start-stop button while crawling around the interior.
