Singers arrested with meth pills

PRACHUAP KHIRI KHAN - Police on Tuesday arrested two women with 834 methamphetamine pills, or yaba, in their possession.

The two women, Sunisa Injan, 21, and Konkawan Alarmruk, 20, confessed that they had used speed pills, but denied that the drugs belonged to them, police said.

Both suspects work as singers at a restaurant in Prachuap Khiri Khan province.

Ms Sunisa said the drugs belonged to her boyfriend Anirut (last name not given).

Police raided a rented house and found the two women doing drugs. They also found 834 yaba pills, with a street value of 250,000 baht, inside a man's shoe in the same house.

Police said they were not convinced by the singers' testimony and will keep both of them in custody until they can bring Anirut in for interrogation.
