Police seize meth pills worth B900m

Three million methamphetamine pills were seized and two drug suspects arrested by police in Saraburi province on Friday morning, deputy national police chief Somyos Phumphanmuang said.

Pol Gen Somyos said a team of police officers arrested two men carrying yaba pills with an estimated street value of 900 million baht at a gas station on Phetchabun-Saraburi road.

The suspects are believed to be members of drug network led by Chaiwat Pornsakulpaisal, known as Lt Col Yi Sae.

Police said the suspects confessed that the drugs were smuggled from Laos and hidden in a warehouse in Nonthaburi province before being sold on to buyers.

Police are attempting to track down other suspected gang members believed to be hiding in Nonthaburi's Bang Bua Thong district.
