Man killed, son wounded in Pattani

A man was killled and his three-year-old son wounded by two gunmen in Pattani's Yaring district early Tuesday, police said.

Pol Lt Col Suthep Chansida, chief of tambon Rata Panyang police station in Yaring district, said Nurdin Masila, 20, and his son Sufiyan were returning home on a motorcycle from a concert at Ban Piya School. They were followed by two men on another motorcycle who opened fire at them.

The shooting took place about 30 minutes after midnight.

Nurdin was killed instantly.  His son Sufiyan was injured.

The killing was still being investigated.
