Twenty-five condominium buyers have won their fight to reclaim their money spent on purchasing units in a project that later failed to transfer to them ownership of the properties.

The Office of the Consumer Protection Board (OCPB) held a ceremony on Thursday to return 12.5 million baht to the buyers. The OCPB received the money from the Nonthaburi provincial court on Feb 12.

Eastern Sun Co, the defendant, paid back the money after losing a court battle, said Ampol Wongsiri, secretary-general of the OCPB.

The OCPB began handling the case for the condo buyers in 2000. An agreement was reached after lengthy legal proceedings, the OCPB chief said.
