Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn is being treated at Vichaiyut Hospital after having polyps removed from her large intestine.
The Royal Household Bureau said in a statement on Thursday that a blood test showed the princess had a higher than normal level of carcinoembryonic antigen which indicates she has a chance of developing cancer.
Last Sunday, doctors removed seven polyps and advised her to suspend her duties.
