The Office of the Auditor-General has found no corruption in the Rajabhakti Park project, Deputy Defence Minister Udomdej Sitabutr said on Monday.
“Senior officials of the Office of the Auditor-General (OAG) have wrapped up the investigation and concluded that all procedures had been followed correctly,” Gen Udomdej, who has chaired the Rajabhakti Park Foundation, said.
Results of the earlier investigations carried out by the Royal Thai Army and the Defence Ministry also confirmed there had been no irregularties in the scheme and all activities had met the criteria stipulated by the Prime Minister's Office, the former army chief said.
However, Gen Udomdej said the National Anti-Corruption Commission wanted to further examine the project although he thought the probes by the three state agencies should have sufficed so the construction of the park could proceed.
The next phase involves building a museum and an exhibition centre under the kings' statues to display the profiles and contributions of all former Thai kings, he said.
