The Election Commission announced on Monday it has set Nov 28 for nationwide elections of tambon administration organisation (TAO) councillors and chairmen.

The announcement came after the cabinet on Sept 7 resolved that the EC should prepare and set the date for tambon elections.

The EC will issue an order on Oct 1 officially setting the election date.

The terms of the current chairmen and TAO council members will expire on that day.

The registration of candidates for TAO chairmanships and TAO councils is from Oct 11-15, with election day on Sunday, Nov 28.
