Three injured by Narathiwat bomb

NARATHIWAT – A regular soldier and two paramilitary rangers were injured by a roadside bomb that exploded as they were travelling in a fuel truck along the Tak Bai–Narathiwat Road in Muang district on Friday morning.

The bomb was hidden in a motorcycle parked on the side of the road  in tambon Kaulwornua and was detonated as they passed by.

The patrol as travelling in a six-wheeler loaded with about 200 litres of oil, returning to their base in Waeng district.

The front of the vehicle was damaged by the explosion.

The three injured soldiers were rushed to a hospital.

They were named as Sgt Maj 1st class Sanya Phromphetnil and rangers Chaichet Langkham and Siri Jearanai.

Investigators said the motorcycle used for the bomb was stolen from Daeng Chankong, who was shot dead on July 13.
