MEA recommends online services to avoid pollution and coronavirus

“According to the Pollution Control Department’s report, PM2.5 pollution in several areas in Bangkok and its suburbs has currently reached a level where it starts to affect health, especially urban areas,” stated Miss Pasuk Sampoonachot, Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA) Public Relations Director, on 5 February 2020.

“In order to avoid the pollution and reduce the infection risk of the new strain of 2019 coronavirus, the MEA is now reformatting its electrical services through various online channels, whereby people do not need to travel anywhere and at the same time can receive convenient, fast, and modern services.”

Miss Pasuk added that the MEA has developed the following platforms in accordance with users’ needs:

- MEA Smart Life Application – “One app for all electricity issues” – where users can pay for electricity through the application using Visa or MasterCard. Other services included: reporting power outages with only two clicks; checking electricity history to see the number of units used in the past 6 months, and; following up on outage announcements, MEA operation, and news directly from the MEA. Interested persons can download the free application from the App Store and Google Play at http://is.gd/KlyQKF or use the offered services through the MEA e-Service website at https://eservice.mea.or.th/meaeservice.

- M Easy – website for electricity connection requests providing complete services anytime, anywhere. Consumers can find out about costs and payment options and track operational status at every step, all online at https://eservice.mea.or.th/measy.

- e-Payment – an online payment service supported by the convenient e-Service the MEA developed to meet modern needs. Consumers can use this application to pay their electricity bills, whether by direct debit or credit card.
