MEA determines measures to tackle COVID-19

Miss Pasuk Sampoonachot, Public Relations Director, the Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA), revealed that the MEA has declared measures to prevent and control the spread of COVID-19, also known as coronavirus, setting up screening points for workers and those visiting its buildings as well as electricity payment rooms.

To ensure trust at each MEA building, ThermoScan temperature scanning devices are used, premises are washed and cleaned, and hand sanitisers are available for both customers and staff members.

In addition, the MEA issued internal regulations for employees to strictly comply with government policies and educate the general public on COVID-19. Advice on how to handle the situation is given through MEA media channels so that employees and other people can understand the situation and be able to safeguard themselves and their close ones.

The official guidelines for prevention and control of COVID-19 from the Ministry of Public Health are as follows:

1. Avoid crowds

2. Avoid staying close to people who show respiratory disease symptoms

3. Consume hot food, use serving spoons, wash hands and wear a face-mask to prevent spread of the disease

Those traveling to and from risky countries or areas where disease outbreaks are reported should strictly follow the measures and recommendations of the Ministry of Public Health. This is for the safety of all people by reducing the risk of the virus becoming widespread.
