TAT Launches “Amazing Thai Tay Competition 2020”

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Central Region in partnership with Thai Smile Airways, AirAsia, Nok Air, AVIS Rent A Car Thailand, dtac, Canon, KEEN, RyoiReview and Forever-Young.asia are holding the “Amazing Thai Tay Competition 2020” to promote tourism under the concept “Thailand is beautiful everywhere, in every style”. The initiative invites Young people to take part in the competition to create 10 different inspiring travel ideas by searching for seldom-visited destinations and cool new experiences in 5 regions around Thailand. After documenting their stories for others to see, they’ll have the chance to win prizes worth a total of THB 500,000.

Mr. Apichai Chatchalermkit, the Tourism Authority of Thailand’s (TAT) Executive Director of the Central Region, said “The Tourism Authority of Thailand has developed a domestic tourism promotion strategy under the concept of Amazing Thai Tay: “Thailand is beautiful everywhere, in every style” to engage the millennial tourism market without classifying tourists based on demographic segmentation. Instead, tourists will be classified based on the idea of fragmentation, such as lifestyles and personal preferences. The Amazing Thai Tay Competition will present inspirational travel ideas from the select finalists who represent 10 types of tourists. These tourists will be tasked with searching for interesting experiences and new perspectives within five regions and then share their travel stories to inspire everyone else to travel in their own styles because “Thailand is beautiful everywhere, in every style.

Mr. Apichai Chatchalermkit also mentioned that, “260 teams from all over Thailand have applied for this competition and the committees have selected the 50 finalist teams who will be representing the 10 types of tourists.”

The 10 types are:

  1. Hipsters
  2. Green Lovers
  3. Young @ Heart
  4. Conquerors
  5. Digital Nomads
  6. Social Story
  7. Camera is my life
  8. Voluntourists
  9. Me Myself & I
  10. Foodies

The 50 finalist teams are now ready for their journeys in search of seldom-visited destinations and cool new experiences from all over Thailand to present and encourage Young people to travel around Thailand in their own styles. The competition begins in July 2020 and the winners will be revealed on August 20, 2020. You can follow the progress of the competition at www.ไทยเท่10สไตล์.com/blog

TAT in partnership with Thai Smile Airways, AVIS Rent A Car Thailand and TraveliGo.com will conduct sales promotion activities to encourage other tourists to visit the 5 regions starting from today until September 10 this year. It will also inspire and build confidence for more travel in Thailand throughout the remainder of the year and into 2021.”
