“Heart Tied by Arts and Crafts, A New Way of the Handicraft Arts under the Royal Patronage” SACICT Is Ready for the Great Event with Thai Handicrafts from over 400 Booths

The Ministry of Commerce by The SUPPORT Arts and Crafts International Center of Thailand (Public Organization) or SACICT invites Thais to honor His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua and Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother in a big event, “Heart Tied by Arts and Crafts, A New Way of the Handicraft Arts under the Royal Patronage”. Do not miss the first big event held by the government sector after the COVID-19 outbreak, where gathers a plenty of Thai arts and crafts by over 400 booths to help boost Thai local economy. This event is held on August 1-5, 2020 at Hall 5, 6 and 7, Impact Muang Thong Thani. Come to shop happily and safely under the social distancing measure.

Mr. Jurin Laksanawisit, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce said that July and August of each year were the auspicious period among Thai people as July 28 was the birthday of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua, and August 12 was the birthday of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother. Therefore, the SUPPORT Arts and Crafts International Center of Thailand (Public Organization) or SACICT as a government entity under the supervision of the Commerce Ministry arranges “Heart Tied by Arts and Crafts, A New Way of the Handicraft Arts under the Royal Patronage” event on August 1-5, 2020 at Hall 5, 6 and 7, Impact Muang Thong Thani in order to honor, present loyalty of Thai people, and recognize their royal grace, and also succeed Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother’s commitment in Thai arts and crafts, who wants to create the career and generate revenues for Thai local people through Thai crafts and arts. This would help shift their quality of life, and show the power of determination, spark creativity, and inspire Thai crafts and handicraft knowledge to new generations and general Thai people so that Thai crafts and arts are retained in the Thai society.

Several months ago, Thailand has suffered the COVID-19 pandemic where all sectors in the country, especially local and foreign economy, have been extremely affected. This event would help stimulate and recover our local economy after such outbreak. This event would gather many craft operators, master artisans of Thailand, master craftsmen, and heritage artisans as well as SACICT members from more than 400 communities across the country for 400 booths. It also helps the craft producers to have more distribution channels to the market. It is expected that this event would generate the distribution value more than 50 million Baht; this helps inject some money to the local economy, and generate more revenues for these communities.

Mr. Pornpon Akathaporn, Chief Executive Officer of SACICT gave more details that, in this event, there would be an exhibition to honor His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua and Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, distribution of crafts and arts by master artisans of Thailand, master craftsmen, and heritage artisans as well as SACICT members in over 400 booths, demonstration of crafts and arts from SACICT members, crafts made by ethnical groups and tribes, fashion show of Thai fabric from top designers, bids of invaluable crafts, and other entertainment activities from many Thai artists and superstars, e.g. Khun Non Thanon and Khun Tu Pobthorn on August 1; Khun Pancake-Khemmanit Jamikorn, Khun Kan Napatra, and Khun Kaimook Rungrat on August 2; Alice-Thanutsaluck Hudson from The Golden Song Program on August 3. The Thai Khon will be presented on August 1 and 2. The visitors will be entertained by Soontraporn songs on August 3, 4 and 5, 2020 for 2 rounds a day, first round on 15.00 hrs. and second round on 18.00 hrs. A fashion show of Thai fabric by Khun Bella Ranee Campen will be presented on August 5 at 16.00 hrs.

The SACICT also prepares certain strict public health measures for visitors’ safety by checking the body temperature, and adhering with the social distancing measure, and providing some alcohol gel throughout the event areas.
