The “Words Change the World” program features a contest for the creation of Thai words referring to climate change. It is intended to raise awareness among Thais of the erratic global weather conditions that have increased in severity and have in turn affected all of us. The activity will encourage participants to search for information and take part in solving this problem in a tangible manner. The Thai words that mean climate change must be precise and easy to understand, and each participant must provide the description of their origin and concept that must reflect an understanding of climate change, its impacts, and how to find tangible solutions to the climate crisis.

The “Words Change the World” program aims to carry out the intent, vision and objective of the Nan Sandbox project through a collaborative effort to combat the problem of climate change alongside the government, businesses and locals of Nan – a province that is home to forests that exist at the headwaters of the Nan River, one of the main tributaries of the Chao Phraya River. The Nan Sandbox project involves a special form of land management which intends to sustainably regulate the use of natural resources and limit effects on the environment.
