The PARQ unveils “The PARQ Collection”

A compelling showcase of artworks from emerging artists curated to enhance wellness while interweaving the connection between nature and urban lifestyle

The PARQ, lifestyle mixed-use development integrating smart workplaces and retail under the concept of "Life Well Balanced," announced the launch of The PARQ Collection, a collection of site-specific contemporary artworks for public display. Representing the seamless connection between urban lives and nature, the collection has been purposefully curated to enhance the quality of life and the positive aspects of human experience among The PARQ’s occupants and visitors alike.

In curating The PARQ Collection, the curatorial team, led by Charintip Choomuenwai, Chief Curator and Vice President, Marketing Communications (Art & Culture), carefully selected a group of emerging artists to create works under the concept of relations between human, nature, and technology, as well as sustainability principles. The collection comprises five artworks, including three by Thai artists and two by Amsterdam-based artist Studio Drift. While the artworks by Studio Drift are expected to be installed on site once the travel restrictions caused by the coronavirus pandemic subsides, the installations in The PARQ Collection currently on display are: “Kuer Koon” by Pongsatat “Dong” Uaiklang, “The Cradle” by Aor Sutthiprapha and “The Cocoon” by Sanitas Pradit-tasnee of Sanitas Studio.

In addition to the launch, The PARQ is holding the “Art in The PARQ” festival, a series of events that maximizes the potential of the spaces for artistic expression, from October 8 – November 15, 2020. The event wrapped its Episode 1: Life phase with The PARQ Collection Art Talk and Art Market on October 8-11.

In the festival’s Episode 2: Well, participants are welcomed to explore their artistic side by joining a variety of art activities, including creating original artworks in the common area of The PARQ on October 26 – November 1, along with a selection of workshops under the concept of “Discovering the Art of Well Living” on the weekend of October 31 – November 1. Those interested can take part in the workshop activities, including Reflecting Your Inner Force, where participants are invited to paint on a reflective canvas to create art that reflects the surrounding nature; Weaving Your Creativity a collage workshop where participants can make one-of-a-kind handicrafts from various natural materials, such as clay, flowers and leaves; and Embrace Yourself with Nature, an art workshop where participants will enjoy extracting paints from a variety of natural sources and combine them in a single D-I-Y painting.

In the last phase of the festival Episode 3: Balanced which is scheduled for November 9-15, the "Balancing Your Life" exhibition will be held to showcase colourful abstract paintings that help enhance life balance along with special workshops on the weekend of November 14-15, led by Thanachai “Pod” Ujjin, whose contemporary artworks are celebrated widely.

Additionally, as a main sponsor of Bangkok Art Biennale 2020, The PARQ is the venue for an exhibition of important artworks by renowned local and international artists as part of the highly-anticipated international art festival, which is scheduled for October 12, 2020 – January 31, 2021.

For every 300 baht purchase of products or services at The PARQ, customers can join one of the "Art in The PARQ" workshops. Those who make public posts with the art pieces in The PARQ Collection, namely The Cocoon, Kuer Koon or The Cradle, on Facebook with #ThePARQ #ThePARQCollection #LifeWellBalanced and the location tagged will also get a chance to win a special gift voucher from The PARQ (3 prizes).

Indulge in the artworks of The PARQ Collection and join the Art Market and art workshops under the concept of Life Well Balanced at “Art in The PARQ” festival from October 8 – November 15 at The PARQ.
