Mr. Jules Kay, Managing Director of PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards, presented the PropertyGuru Icon award for 2020 to Mrs. Thippaporn (Chearavanont) Ahriyavraromp, Founder and Chairman of the Executive Committee of DTGO and Chairman of MQDC, the first woman in Thailand and the Asia-Pacific to receive the award.

Commenting on the award Mr. Kay said: “Mrs. Thippaporn Ahriyavraromp is a worthy winner of this year’s PropertyGuru Icon Award. In 2012, she was the first female to receive the Thailand Real Estate Personality of the Year award. Now, eight years later in 2020, she is once again the first female to receive this impressive regional honour.

“As Chairman of MQDC and Chairman of the Executive Committee of DTGO, as well as Chairperson of Buddharaksa Foundation, Mrs. Thippaporn sets an example for the real estate industry to follow. Her long-term vision for sustainable, resilient, community-focused development is supported by exemplary research, and with MQDC’s latest project, The Forestias, she is creating a model for the future of healthy, compassionate, multi-generational living,” Mr Kay, added.

Mrs. Thippaporn (Chearavanont) Ahriyavraromp, Founder and Chairman of the Executive Committee of DTGO and Chairman of MQDC (Magnolia Quality Development Corporation Limited), established and propelled MQDC to become one of Thailand’s top property developers, building an ethical future through projects developed for sustainable well-being.

MQDC’s outstanding developments include “The Forestias”, Thailand’s largest real estate project, worth over 125 billion baht. Located on 398 rai, the project is in the future location of Bangkok East zone along Bangna-Trad KM7 in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) strategic area, set to become Thailand’s fastest growing economic corridor. The development includes an extensive 30-rai forest grown from seeds and seedlings, at the centre of the project, to provide a diverse, flourishing ecosystem set to naturally develop and grow. The Forestias has a variety of residential projects, both houses and condominiums, to suit families of different sizes and lifestyles. These residential projects include Whizdom and Mulberry Grove condominiums as well as Mulberry Grove Villas, The Aspen Tree residences, a Six Senses hotel, and Six Senses residences.

MQDC has established the FutureTales Lab, Thailand’s first real estate futurology centre. To study, analyse, and gather important information for a better future for humankind, the centre focuses on eight key research areas: Future of Living, Technology & Robotics, Future of Healthcare, Future of Learning, Climate Crisis, Biodiversity, Global Energy, and Space Exploration.

MQDC’s many social projects include “Forest for Life”, an initiative to support 1,000 families suffering hardship in the COVID-19 crisis, providing 15,000 baht/month to each family. The project aims to grow 1,000,000 seedlings for communities and organisations to create green space and for MQDC housing projects, with a total project budget of 25 million baht.

Ms. Thippaporn said that MQDC has set three policy directions:

1. Resilience: Sustainability is probably not enough for the current situation. We need to look to resiliency and flexible city building, so cities can adjust to each event to achieve the mission of the well-being of all things on earth.

2. Biodiversity: The MQDC team is focused on biodiversity to find ways for humankind and all life on earth to coexist happily.

3. Robotics: MQDC will be a pioneer in developing robots that can communicate with buildings, as research shows that residents will want to coexist with robots and nature.
