NACC president delivers national anti-corruption statement to UNGASS

delivered a national statement at the United Nations General Assembly Special Session Against Corruption (UNGASS). In the statement, the NACC President congratulated the members on the adoption of the political declaration and reaffirmed Thailand’s commitment to cooperating with the United Nations and international community in the fight against corruption and upholding the principles of the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC). Thailand’s national statement was introduced by H.E. Mr. Supark Prongthura, Ambassador and Deputy Permanent Representative of Thailand to the United Nations, New York. 

UNGASS was held between 2-4 June 2021 at the United Nations headquarters in New York, U.S.A., pursuant to being the international platform for member states to express their mutual anti-corruption intention and endorse the political declaration on the prevention of corruption. The agenda included discussions of critical current anti-corruption issues, including encouraging implementation of the UNCAC, denying safe haven to corruption, asset recovery, promoting transparency in the business sector, investment policies, immigration, and promoting participation of society.
