Alloysius (AJ) Lloyd: The Black Millennial Mogul Making an Impact

Throughout his entire life, Alloysius (AJ) Lloyd has aspired to make a difference. Lloyd has always found a way to find the connections between seemingly disparate industries in a way that benefits others. Lloyd’s ability to seamlessly integrate himself across his varying interests and combine them in order to both make a difference, and turn a profit, is what sets him apart. Now, as a black millennial mogul running an eight-figure international business, Lloyd is doing everything he can to maximise his impact.

The young tycoon has not only lived the type of life most people dream of, but he also finds time to make the world a better and more inclusive place thereby opening up space for other individuals to follow their dreams as well. Lloyd has vertically integrated both his social and professional lives across many cities significant in the art, fashion, finance, and technology sectors. Having lived or done business in Paris, London, Tokyo, Singapore, Seoul, and Geneva

Lloyd has been in the same room as plenty of powerful business magnates and cultural stars. Learning from his international experience and network Lloyd has put himself in a position to be a power player in some of the most impactful businesses in the world as well as in some of the most meaningful philanthropic efforts in the world.

Lloyd is the type of executive and investor who not only enjoys having fun, but who also utilises his cultural caché to help him make a difference. Lloyd has been deeply inspired to pay the generosity of his creative mentor, artistic savant Michèle Lamy, forward. Recently, Lloyd and Lamy were seen at the Rick Owens Runway Show for Paris Fashion Week and at Art Basel for Lamy’s performance with Ryoji Ikeda.

In the spirit of paying it forward, Lloyd recently became one of the only black owners of an original Warhol. While this puts him in a small group of people including legends like Jay Z, and Swizz Beatz, Lloyd has a deeper intention for this purchase. Lloyd has plans to turn this high-profile acquisition into a creative NFT project in order to create value to be donated to marginalised children; Lloyd hopes to partner with the Warhol Foundation on this project. Another way culture and philanthropy intersect for Lloyd is illustrated by the recognition he received, alongside Wilson Oryema, by UNICEF’s partnership with Gucci about Regenerative Development.

As a testament to his success with his philanthropic efforts in the worlds of social and environmental impact, Lloyd was actually named one of the top 100 voices in Regenerative Development. Lloyd is consistently, and brilliantly, able to couple his keen cultural & creative eye with meaningful philanthropic projects making a difference with socio-economic & identity-based issues as well as with climate change, utilising cutting-edge technology and sound financial principles along the way.

In memory of his difficult childhood experiences growing up in poverty and without access to many of the opportunities he currently has, Lloyd is committed to opening up doors for individuals with pasts like his. This is why he is known for the ‘exposureships’ he facilitates, giving underrepresented and marginalised people life-changing introductions and the experiential exposure they may not have access to, but need.

Further, as a commitment to making an impact, Lloyd’s new mandate is to exclusively invest in women, focusing on women of colour, for the next 12 plus months. We cannot wait to see what his new mandate produces.
