Brighton College Bangkok recognised in the OxfordAQA Awards

Six Brighton College Bangkok Pupils, Teachers and Staff have been recognised in the OxfordAQA Go Further Awards 2021

The Go Further Awards, from the OxfordAQA organisation, recognise the exceptional efforts of students and school staff from all around the world. So we are incredibly proud to share the winners from Brighton College Bangkok who went above and beyond in 2021.

Outstanding Student Award 2021

Congratulations to Esmira, who is one of only four pupils in the world to win a Gold Award. Even when she was not in Thailand and working in a different time zone, Esmira always participated, engaged, and contributed openly in lessons. She works hard on all her projects but also spends her spare time teaching English to children in the local community and raising funds to ease their financial hardship.

Congratulations also to Alisha in Year 12, who has been awarded an Outstanding Student Award from the OxfordAQA organisation.

Alisha is a model pupil, who works hard in all of her subjects and embodies our school values of curiosity, confidence and kindness. She works tirelessly for her local community, creating food supply bags (using her own savings) for hundreds of people experiencing hardship during these difficult times. Through her own initiative, she is making a difference to the lives of many who are less fortunate.

Congratulations to Dharma in Year 13, who has also received an Outstanding Student Award from OxfordAQA. This award recognises Dharma's continued commitment to her coursework and learning during the pandemic, as she progresses with her Psychology, History and Economics A Level subjects. As the Chair of the Student Council, her positive impact is felt all around the school.

Outstanding Teacher Award 2021

We're proud to announce that Mr McCullough, our Humanities teacher, has collected an Outstanding Teacher Award from the Oxford AQA organisation.

Nominated by his pupils, this award is recognition of his passion for his subject and the kindness he shows his pupils every day.

Congratulations also to the Deputy Head of our Preparatory School, Mrs Horridge, who has been awarded an Outstanding Teacher Award, after being nominated by the Senior Leadership Team at the College.

Those who see her dedication, warmth and kindness every day will agree that it’s a worthy choice.

Heart of the School award 2021

Baiyok (Yok) Klaysin, our Preparatory School Librarian picks up a special award for ‘Heart of the School’. She works tirelessly to keep our junior library well-stocked with books, and bright and comfortable for our children and teachers to enjoy. Always with a welcoming smile, Khun Yok inspires a love of reading in all of her visitors.
