Tooth Implants Costs in Malaysia are Worth It

Tooth Implants Costs in Malaysia are Worth It

Are you tired of dealing with loose dentures, partial plates and bridgework?

The cost of having tooth implants in Malaysia may seem prohibitive, but implants are a permanent solution to missing teeth. And once the procedure is complete, you’ll feel like you have a full set of perfect teeth once again.

The cost is also affordable when compared to tooth implants in other countries. The cost ranges from MYR 5000 to 10,000 per implant, with the average cost being MYR 8,000 per implant. In the US and UK, you can expect to pay upwards of MYR 12,500 to over 20,000 per implant. And the quality of the implants is the same.

Tooth Implant Procedure

The tooth implant procedure is a lengthy one, with healing taking up the most time between the steps. The steps you’ll require and the length of time it will take differs for each person. It depends on how fast you heal and whether you’ll need bone grafts in your jaw or not.

The first step for many people is to have the broken or diseased tooth removed. Your dentist will allow the jaw to heal after the removal.

Once it’s healed, they’ll take x-rays to ensure the jaw has enough bone mass and density to accept the implant. If not, they can perform a bone graft to strengthen the area. This procedure will again necessitate a period of healing afterwards that can take up to several months.

Once the patient is fully healed, the dentist makes an incision in the gum tissue and drills a pilot hole in the bone underneath. They screw a threaded titanium fixture into the pilot hole, which forms the root of the tooth implant.

There’s another healing period after this procedure, although gum tissue generally heals faster than bone so that the healing period may be shorter. The final two steps can be performed in one trip to the dentist.

Tooth Implants Consist of Three Parts

The dentist will have taken an impression of the area where the implant is scheduled to be after the tooth was removed. This will have enabled them to begin fabricating the crown or dental prosthetic, which is the part of the implant that resembles a natural tooth. When we get to the latter stages of the tooth implant, the crown should need only slight adjustments until it’s ready to be attached to finish the procedure.

But between the crown and the implant, the dentist will also install the abutment. This is a titanium piece that forms a link between the crown and the implant. It serves as a sort of safety device in case you should ever break the crown. Your dentist can remove the abutment holding the crown without removing the entire implant underneath.
