Arçelik Hitachi established headquarters in Thailand to increase its global power

Arçelik Hitachi Home Appliances chose Thailand to expand global sales of Hitachi branded products. The joint venture’s production power and capabilities in Thailand continues to strengthen its innovative technologies and the brand’s positioning in the market.

Arçelik Hitachi Home Appliances, the joint venture created as a result of the historic partnership between Arçelik and Hitachi Global Life Solutions to be one of the world’s top home appliances companies leveraging Arçelik know-how with Hitachi’s platform with strong quality, brand heritage and high-end products. The company has chosen Thailand as its headquarters office to strengthen its positioning in the rapidly growing Asian market where the middle-class is booming.

“We established our company in Thailand to leverage Hitachi branded products’ presence around the globe. We now export Hitachi branded products that we produce in Thailand to more than 65 countries around the globe. More than 50% of Hitachi branded home appliances in the world are produced in Thailand,” said Zafer Ustuner, Arçelik Hitachi Home Appliances CEO. “Thailand is one of the key markets for us, not only because of the increasing purchasing power of Thai consumers or their need for quality products but also its modern infrastructure, skilled workforce, and investment incentives from the Board of Investment Thailand which all make this country great for business growth. We now employ more than 5,200 people in Thailand. We believe in Thailand’s potential and have strategically placed the country as our hub.”

Arçelik Hitachi Home Appliances aims to strengthen its portfolio with new products, such as large-sized, premium multi-door refrigerator, and front-loading washing machines and cordless vacuum cleaners. “Thanks to Arçelik’s strong innovation and production technologies, and Hitachi’s production power in Thailand, we are enriching Hitachi’s product portfolio with new products and introducing new categories such as dishwashers, dryers and coffee machines,” said Zafer Ustuner, Arçelik Hitachi Home Appliances CEO. “We are not only expanding the categories with new products but also innovating them with smart and unique features. Our newly introduced front loader washing machines and washer dryers have already started to attract new customers with advanced features and technologies such as Autodose, AI wash, Wind Iron and IoT. These strengths will help expand the customer base and boost sales for the brand in all countries.”

“We will continue our efforts to transform our business while protecting our planet at the same time”

Arçelik Hitachi Home Appliances will carry on the sustainability approach that Arçelik and Hitachi GLS have been following for years. As a global company, Arçelik-Hitachi aims to integrate sustainability into all business operations and its entire value chain. “Our sustainability structure ensures that sustainability is top of our agenda. Recently, we have achieved another step in our sustainability journey in line with our commitment to a better future. Almost 20% of our total energy consumption in our manufacturing facility in Kabin Buri is now provided from floating solar farms which allows us to reduce 6,000 tons of CO2 emissions yearly. We will continue our efforts to transform our business while protecting our planet at the same time,” said Zafer Ustuner.
