OR and CARSOME Academy sign MoU to leverage workforce to build solid professional talents in the automotive industry

FIT Auto Car Service Center has joined forces with CARSOME Academy to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), with the aim of developing specialised skills among local personnel in the automotive industry. The objective of this partnership is also to instill the workforce with professionalism and to equip them with the knowledge and expertise required by the industry.

Mr. Paisan Udomkulwanich, Senior Executive Vice President, Lubricants Business, PTT Oil and Retail Business Public Company Limited, or OR, together with Mr. Somsarit Treeprasertsuk, Automotive Service Business Manager of OR; Mr. Chayudhaton Phariyhaangkhula, Vice President of CARSOME Academy (Thailand), or CARSOME Academy, along with Ms. Nuthiya Booncharoen, Head of TVET for Carsome Academy Thailand, were present during the MoU signing ceremony between FIT Auto, one of OR's businesses and CARSOME Academy, an automotive technical institution accredited by the Office of the Private Education Commission (OPEC), Ministry of Education.

Mr. Paisan said that “The partnership between OR and CARSOME Academy aims at developing automotive skillsets and expertise among the workforce in the industry so that they can provide quality automotive services that meet the industry standards with high-level capability in advanced technology. Through this collaboration, the FIT Auto and CARSOME Academy jointly created training courses in both theory and practice which cover general car inspections, suspension, and transmission checks to help learners become professionals in the automotive industry and to drive sustainability for automotive industry standards. This partnership will also help the learners increase their specialised technical knowledge and improve career advancement for Thai automotive workers, while also addressing the challenge of a labour shortage that FIT Auto could face in the future due to its business expansion.

Mr. Chayudhaton revealed that, “CARSOME Academy will organise the courses jointly developed with OR for personnel by focusing on promoting and developing labour potential specifically for the automotive industry in various dimensions. The courses will be held using digital learning media and advanced technology which will cover car inspection, general repair, body paintwork, as well as other specific technical skills and workshops. The training period will take approximately four months. Once completing the courses, the learners will receive a certificate from CARSOME Academy, which is certified by the Office of the Private Education Commission (OPEC). With the certificate, they will have a chance to be considered to work in FIT Auto.”

As the automotive industry has witnessed continuous growth, more branchs of FIT Auto Car Service Centers are opened each year to meet increasing demands of customers by prioritising services and expertise in car maintenance. This leads to the collaboration with CARSOME Academy, a labour skill development institute currently operating in Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand. The company is committed to enhancing skills and developing the capabilities of its personnel and setting good standards of professionalism in order to meet the needs of all automotive businesses in Southeast Asia.
