with the aim of making all Thai proud of being this year’s APEC host

Siam Piwat Group and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs organise a special showcase related to the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) 2022 conference hosted by Thailand. Taking place at Bangkok’s world-class riverside commercial centre “the ICONSIAM” from 9 to 20 November; the event is aimed at providing knowledge and understanding to the public about the APEC meeting under the theme of 'Open. Connect. Balance.' Mr Tanee Sangrat, director-general of Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ department of information and Mr.Chadchart Sittipun, Bangkok Governor will preside over the opening of the APEC 2022 Thailand: Showcase at ICONSIAM held at the Charoen Nakorn Hall on M floor of the shopping mall on November 9.

The event will provide insight about the openness, building relationships, being connected towards a balance - that encompasses the theme - and inspiring the Thai public with a sense of participation and feeling proud of the Kingdom hosting the meeting of leaders from Asia Pacific economies.

Siam Piwat Group, the country's leading real estate and retail developer, the owner and operator of world-class projects, including Siam Paragon, Siam Center, Siam Discovery, and a joint venture partner of ICONSIAM and Siam Premium Outlets Bangkok, is an official communication partner for the APEC 2022 Thailand.

"On behalf of Siam Piwat Group, we are honoured to be chosen as one of  official communication partners for APEC 2022 Thailand,'' beamed Mr.Supoj Chaiwatsirikul, Managing Director of ICONSIAM. This provides a great opportunity for the Thai private sector to work with the government in a forum that shows Thailand's potential on the world stage after re-opening the country to welcome tourists from around the world. The event's theme will be presented in the form of economic simulators which will be useful in growing Thai economy sustainably, he noted.

There will be exhibitions of innovations and knowledge in accordance with the guidelines for creating balance in all dimensions, economically, socially and environmentally, through the Bio–Circular–Green (BCG) Economy Model.

The exhibition comes into four zones, consisting of:

 1. APEC History and Significance -- the story of 33 years of cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region, the thought incubator of the region that never stops developing.

Thailand, as the host of APEC 2022, is poised to open up to every opportunity, being connected in all dimensions and creating balance in all aspects towards development for a sustainable future for everyone.

 2. Innovation and knowledge about BCG Economy Model in three spectrums -- Bio Economy in promoting agricultural careers through Innovation, an economic system that focuses on efficient use of living resources; Circular Economy, efficient resource management from upstream to downstream under the 360 Waste Journey theme; and Green Economy to reduce global warming, an economy that focuses on environmental sustainability, using resources appropriately and cost-effectively, spreading the stability evenly while improving the quality of living and reducing environmental risks.

 3. Business models that drive the Thai economy with the BCG concept -- presenting information and innovations on four prioritised business categories that are in line with the national agenda of the government as follows,

 - Agriculture and food by Charoen Pokphand Foods PCL (CPF)

 - Health and Medical by Taksin Hospital

 - Energy, materials and biochemical by Siam Cement Group (SCG)

- Tourism and Creative Economy by Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT)

4. BCG Economy Model discussions by small and medium entrepreneurs (SMEs) who have succeeded in applying the BCG economic model in creating added value for products that are taken to the world market. There are sessions on:

 - 'Proof of excess' in the fabric Business on Circular Economy by Amornpol Huwanan, one of the founders of the 'moreloop' that revives fabrics from the fashion industry with the Circular Economy model.

 - Products of the future for pet lovers by Ittikorn Thepmanee, the founder of Laika, a dog snack that saves the world, and winner of Pitching at the GC Circular Living Symposium 2020.

 - Turning rubbish into a unique art by Witchulada Pantaranuwong, a mixed-media artist who turns junk into animals, furniture and various items, to change the view that plastic waste is not the culprit.

 - From scraps of leather to international products by Thanyawat Thangtrakul, an innovative leather goods manufacturer under the brand “THAIS”, a recycled leather brand that gives a second useful life to leather scraps
