The Halal Science Center (HSC) in collaboration with the Central Islamic Council of Thailand (CICOT), the Halal Standard Institute of Thailand (HSIT), Research Synergy Foundation (RSF), Indonesia held Thailand Halal Assembly 2022, during 15-16 December 2022 at Chalerm Rajakumari 60 Building (Chamchuri 10 Building), 8th floor, Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok and via online channel. The theme of the event was ‘Soft Powering of Halal Science, Technology and Innovation’. This was the first hybrid event both online and on-site at the venue of Chulalongkorn University.
In this international Halal event of Thailand Halal Assembly (THA) 2022, more than 530 delegates from 38 countries participated on-site, in addition the more than 1,500 online participants.
This fruitful 2-day THA 2022 comprises the 15th Halal Science, Industry and Business (HASIB), and the 8th International Halal Standards and Certification Convention (IHSACC) 2022. There were 23 international speakers associated with Halal events, businesses, and global industry from Indonesia, Malaysia, Egypt, Turkey, Pakistan, Gambia, UAE, Algeria, France, Brunei Darussalam, Australia, Poland, and Thailand, participated For HASIB and IHSATEC conference.
The Speakers & Moderators delighted the in-house and online audiences with their high level of halal industry experience, talent, knowledge, and information. Interesting topics included: Session-1: Keynote Speech “Soft Powering of Halal Science, Technology, And Innovation” Session-2: "Innovative Halal Products That Steer the Future" Session-3: "Tracking and Tracing Technology for Halal Quality Control" Session-4: "Blockchain-Based Traceability for Halal Products and Services" Session-5: "Future, Challenges and Opportunities of Halal Products"
Associate Professor Dr. Pakorn Priyakorn in his closing speech told the audience that under the leadership of Associate Professor Dr. Winai Dahlan, the Chairman of Thailand Halal Assembly 2022, they have been working together with Research Synergy Foundation (RSF), Indonesia, on the Academic presentation session under IHSATEC. There were 42 participants in the Academic presentation including 37 oral presentations and 5 poster presentations from 16 countries namely Australia, Brazil, Brunei, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Lebanon, Myanmar, Malaysia, Netherlands, Nigeria, Philippines, Pakistan, UAE, Vietnam, and Thailand. There were honored to have 9 expert judging committees from Malaysia, Gambia, Pakistan, UAE, Egypt, and Thailand.
Besides Halal industry conference, IHSACC was held in collaboration with the Academic Commission on Halal Standards under the Standard and Metrology Institute of Islamic Countries (SMIIC). Thanks to H.E. İhsan ÖVÜT, the Secretary General of SMIIC that always pays his support to the forum. This convention was a stage in which representatives of more than 50 Halal certification agencies around the world exchanged ideas on the theme "The Development of Halal Standards to Support the Trend of New Products and Services in the Future”. Recent Halal standards were deliberated by 6 speakers from Turkey, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, and Thailand.
Not to forget, the Thailand Halal Assembly 2022 greatly appreciated to have very positive cooperation from the Central Islamic council of Thailand and the committee of the provincial Islamic council of Thailand.
