NT joins PTC’23 in Honolulu, Hawaii

Elevating Thai telecommunication services to global standard

National Telecommunication Public Company Limited (NT) reinforces its leadership in Thailand’s telecommunications by participating in PTC’23, an international telecommunication conference where global communication professionals come together and exchange experiences around the advancement of information and communication technology. The event is held annually in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA. This year, it was held between 15-18 January 2023.

The Pacific Telecommunications Council (PTC) is a not-for-profit organisation established to promote the advancement of information and communication technology. It aims to develop the potential of senior ICT executives in the Asia-Pacific region, connect information networks and business cooperation, and exchange knowledge. Every year, the PTC conference is attended by more than 5,000 executives and representatives in the telecommunication industry across the globe such as Global Service Providers, Subsea Cable Suppliers, Satellite Providers, Data Center providers, MNOs and MVNOs.

Three NT executives attended PTC’23, namely Mr. Seikson Mitkasem, Senior Executive Vice President (Marketing and Products); Mr. Apichart Swankomtorn, Executive Vice President Marketing and Products Group, and Mrs. Ubonpan Chuenchom, Vice President of Carrier Business Department of NT.

Mr. Seikson Mitkasem, Senior Executive Vice President (Marketing and Products), NT, said “Participation in global telecommunication conferences is another important mission for NT to build confidence in Thailand in the eyes of executives in the international telecommunication industry. It is also an opportunity for business connections for the development of international and domestic telecommunication infrastructure to support the growing demand for digital technology in businesses and industries, especially 5G deployment, increasing OTT traffic, and the growing demand for domestic Internet.”

“Seeing growing domestic consumption, many content providers have expanded their services to Thailand by setting up POPs to provide better communication and digital technology user experience. NT has therefore developed and expanded its services to support such trends while keeping up-to-date with the coming technology trends such as AI technology that will create more potential and reliability. Other trends include more depth in the industrial cloud platform, platform engineering built by businesses to adopt automation, wireless technologies like 5G, WiFi, Bluetooth that will be developed beyond communication, and Superapps that will combine many services. These technology trends all require high-potential telecommunication infrastructure.”

“NT’s readiness to carry out projects to expand Internet gateways and international submarine cable systems according to the Thai government’s Thailand 4.0 Policy, will serve as an important gateway to Thailand’s trade. It will cover all forms of investment and business cooperation with neighbouring Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam (CLMV). In addition, a joint investment in a new international submarine cable system, Asia Direct Cable (ADC), scheduled to open by the end of 2023, will connect Thailand with Singapore, the Philippines, Vietnam, China, and Japan.”

“NT benefits from its strengths, including over 25,000 telecommunication towers nationwide covering all areas, nine international submarine cable systems that connect to every continent, five main frequency bands totalling 540 MHz, underground conduits with a total distance of 4,600 kilometres, four million core kilometres of fibre-optic cables, unrestricted international phone calls from all countries, and 13 data centres across the country enhanced by safe storage with NT’s cloud and cyber security services. Therefore, NT is confident that it can address all business needs and increase Thailand’s potential to become a regional digital telecommunications hub in a strong and comprehensive way.”
