Huawei Thailand Launches Water-Splashing Challenge

Donates solar technology to Thai schools and promotes sustainable education in rural areas

Huawei Thailand spreads joy and happiness to all Thais this year with the “Water-Splashing Challenge”, Huawei’s latest online CSR campaign in celebration of Thailand’s famous Songkran festival.

The company will help convert good intentions from online activities into great results by transferring Smart PV green energy solutions to Thai students across rural areas of Thailand. Consumers can join the online activities, which will be streamed live on the Huawei Thailand Facebook page from the 12th to 20th April 2023, to help donate solar roof systems to several Thai schools that lack the necessary infrastructure.

Mr. David Li, CEO of Huawei Technologies (Thailand) Co., Ltd., provided additional information about the campaign: “Huawei Thailand is very excited to launch this challenge in order to help promote sustainable education for Thai students in rural areas. Our company is strongly committed to developing Thailand's digital potential and leading the country toward a fully connected, intelligent digital future. This initiative also reaffirms our company's vision to "Grow in Thailand, Contribute to Thailand," and we hope to make a positive impact on Thailand’s education landscape and on the next generation with this meaningful “Water-Splashing Challenge” campaign. This is one of the essential steps in preparing the country to grow even more strongly in the digital transformation era.”

The online campaign is open to all of Huawei’s followers living in Thailand who want to have some fun splashing water during Songkran, with no limits on age, gender, nationality or place

of residence. Followers can easily participate in the activity from the 12th to 20th April 2023 by posting and sharing their water-splashing videos or photos across social media platforms (including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn) and tagging @Huawei and @HuaweiThailandFacebook with the hashtag #WaterSplash and #HuaweiThailandCSR. Participants only need to make their accounts public and to follow @Huawei and @HuaweiThailand to take part. Four participants from Thailand who share the most creative water-splashing activities will have the opportunity to join a voting stage on the 20th – 23rd April 2023 and the chance to win prizes such as HUAWEI FreeBuds Pro 2 and HUAWEI FreeBuds 5i.

Mr. Li said: “By supporting sustainable education, the company aims to improve access to quality education for children living in rural areas while also fostering a greater sense of community and connection. Following the end of the campaign, Huawei Thailand will support the donation of solar technology systems in schools in rural areas. With the delivery of solar power systems, schools can maintain stability when there are power outages during Thailand’s rainy season, something that has long hindered learning opportunities for students during those months.”

Thailand has great potential for residential solar power and Huawei is committed to making digital power technology accessible to all households, thus enabling the country to achieve its carbon neutrality goals. With this campaign, Huawei Thailand invites individuals and organisations across Thailand to join hands and make a positive change for those in need.
