SPI and EGAT sign groundbreaking MOU to develop charging stations

Saha Pathana Inter-Holding and EGAT position to drive Thailand’s EV ecosystem towards a greener future.

Saha Group, through Saha Pathana Inter-Holding, has signed an agreement with EGAT to jointly develop EV charging stations in Saha Group's affiliated areas, further promoting the electric vehicle ecosystem in Thailand.

Mr. Vichai Kulsomphob, President and CEO of Saha Pathana Inter-Holding Plc. (SPI), announced that SPI has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) to jointly develop EV charging stations. The aim of this partnership is to promote sustainable electric vehicle development across all Saha Group's properties. This includes the development and installation of EV charging stations (EleX by EGAT), a collaborative application and platform, as well as data networks and various communication media. The project will serve as a prototype for both government and private organisations to collaborate in promoting a safe, convenient, cost-effective, and socially beneficial electric vehicle ecosystem in Thailand.

Furthermore, the project aims to support the country's energy policy, which focuses on transitioning to clean energy to achieve the net-zero emissions target and promote the electric vehicle ecosystem in Thailand.

"The aforementioned operations have been carried out by Saha Pathana Inter-Holding Plc., the developer of all four industrial parks under Saha Group, with a continuous vision towards sustainability. This is in line with the important concept of Saha Group's business operations of 'Good people, Good products, Good society.' This promotes the creation of valuable jobs, the development of high-quality industries, and the production of good products and services for consumers. In addition to investing in clean energy, the company is also committed to developing other areas to meet the increasing demands and growth of the business. New business models and technologies are also being applied to develop our industrial parks into truly Smart

Industrial Parks, to ensure sustainable growth for the company and our partners," said Mr. Vichai.

One of the company's goals is to conduct business with social, community, and environmental responsibilities towards achieving carbon neutrality. This sustainable strategy not only strengthens the company's role in supporting the development of clean energy in Thailand but also aligns with its vision of "Success with Synergy and Sharing," committed to creating success through synergy and sharing.

Mr. Boonyanit Wongrukmit, Governor of the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), expressed his excitement that Saha Group, a long-standing leader in the consumer goods industry, through Saha Pathana Inter-Holding Plc., has collaborated with EGAT, a state organisation. Both organisations can combine their expertise and strengths to develop further and maximise the benefits to the fullest. Currently, both organisations have successfully collaborated to develop and launch the EleX by EGAT charging station, located at the C2 parking level of J-Park Sriracha Nihon Mura community mall. Furthermore, the two organisations have collaborated to study the development direction of charging stations in the areas currently under development by Saha Group, including KingBridge Tower (a commercial office building) and KingsQuare Residence (a residential project). Additionally, both organisations have worked together to study and expand the electric vehicle business in the Industrial Park area.

EGAT has been developing a comprehensive electric vehicle ecosystem, including providing services for EleX by EGAT charging stations, developing the EleXA application for station use, and providing a platform for managing charging stations to facilitate those interested in investing in self-installed charging stations. By promoting the transition to the use of electric vehicles, the collaboration will not only help support the 30@30 state policy but also drive the low-carbon society and propel Thailand to achieve its carbon neutrality target by 2050 and net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2065.
