Krirk University Expands Global Reach: Launches Language and Cultural Programs at Oxford and Cambridge Universities

Krirk University has always been deeply committed to teaching languages and culture, specialising in Thai, Chinese, Arabic, and English. This commitment has remained steadfast throughout the university's remarkable journey to becoming the 5th best university in Thailand. Now, Krirk University is extending its support to students in the UK by establishing language and cultural skills programs at both Oxford University and Cambridge University.

Professor Dr. Jaran Maluleem, the Dean of Islamic Studies at the International College in Bangkok, and Mr. Sarawut Laesun, the Deputy Dean, along with faculty members and outstanding students, have been selected for cultural exchange programs at Oxford University and the University of Cambridge. Ms. Ameenah Luebeludong, a second-year bachelor's degree student majoring in Islamic Business Administration Hajj and Umrah Service Management, is one of the recipients of a scholarship from the Islamic International College. She was congratulated by Prof. Dr. Krasae Chanawongse, the President of Krirk University, Mr. Wang Changming, the Chair of the Board, Assoc. Prof. Supat Treeravatchenchai, the Vice President of Academic Affairs, and Mr. Li Shaoyun, the Assistant to the President.

This program is an international cooperation initiative between language institutes and leaders in both ASEAN and Europe. Such partnerships are crucial for promoting cultural exchange, language learning, and academic collaboration among countries and regions. It involves esteemed institutions such as Oxford International Study Centre (UK), ES Dubai-English Studies Dubai (UAE), Language School (University Science Malaysia), IAE global network London (UK), Intelex University of Malaya (Malaysia), Fatin Institution for Higher Education in Sri Lanka, Studio Cambridge (UK), and Brighton Language College International (UK).

Language and cultural exchange programs offer numerous benefits to participants. Typically, these programs focus on intensive English language learning and provide opportunities for students to exchange cultures, develop leadership potential, and experience life abroad. Beyond language acquisition, these programs also nurture leadership skills such as communication, problem-solving, and teamwork through interactions with other participants and program leaders. Living abroad and experiencing different education systems broaden students' perspectives, enhancing their understanding of diverse cultures and ways of life. This exposure fosters personal growth, confidence, and courage while introducing new experiences and ideas. Overall, language and cultural exchange programs have a profound impact on students' personal and professional development, enabling them to apply their knowledge for further self-improvement and societal contribution.

Ameenah Leubeludong, a student at the International Islamic College Bangkok Krirk University, expressed her gratitude for the university's support and the opportunity to enhance her language skills and professionalism through these activities. She is among the exceptional students awarded scholarships for language and cultural exchange programs in Malaysia and the UK. After improving her English language proficiency at the School of Languages, Literacies & Translation, University Sains Malaysia from April 3rd to April 30th, 2023, she is scheduled to continue her exchange program from May 5th to May 19th, 2023, at the Oxford International Study Centre and the University of Cambridge. She is the first student from the Islamic International College to embark on such an opportunity. The college provides significant avenues for language skill development and exposure to diverse cultures abroad.

Professor Dr. Krasae Chanawongse, the President of Krirk University, provided guidance to Ms. Ameenah, encouraging her to develop her language and cultural skills. Being selected for such an opportunity is not only an honour for herself but also for her family and the university. It has the potential to benefit both the individual student and the nation at large. This achievement also underscores the significance of participating in skills development activities across various fields, particularly in languages such as Chinese, Arabic, and English.

Krirk University is dedicated to promoting international cooperation and has established a Memorandum of Understanding with six educational institutes, including the Nanyang Institute of Management in Singapore. Such agreements foster mutual understanding and collaboration among different countries and cultures. Language and cultural exchange programs offer a valuable platform for students to seek diverse experiences, learn about different cultures, and share their own cultural heritage with others. Through participation in these programs, students have the opportunity to represent Thailand and showcase its unique culture and traditions to individuals from around the world.
