MEA's "Change for Good" Committees under the Ministry of Interior Hosts 2023 World Soil Day

MEA doubles down on its commitment to sustainable policies and community engagement.

The Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA), led by Pornsak Udomsapayakul, Assistant Governor of Metropolitan Electricity and Head of MEA's "Change for Good" committee, presided over the 2023 World Soil Day event themed "Soils, where food begins." The event showcased MEA's commitment to advancing soil resource policies to enhance food security and public sustainability, aligned with the principles of sustainable development as guided by the Royal Science. The event took place at Ban Rat Niyom School in Sai Noi, Nonthaburi.

The event encompassed various engaging activities, including a soil-themed drawing competition, a hands-on "Do It by Yourself" tree planting activity, and an interactive session integrating soil, water, food, and renewable energy concepts.

Led by MEA's Assistant Governor, students and staff from relevant networks participated in growing vegetables within the school's farming area. Other initiatives involved climate change mitigation through a wet rubbish bin campaign and solar-powered farm watering. In these endeavours, MEA contributed through system installation, electricity system maintenance, and underground water supply management.

MEA's Bang Buathong office, alongside affiliated networks in the region, remain dedicated to elevating operational standards and providing efficient public services. The event aimed to foster participation among organisational staff in promoting positive change and contributing meaningful values to society. This engagement serves as a blueprint for the Ministry of Interior's pursuit of effective governance, efficiency, advancement, and collaborative networking, all underpinned by the guiding principle of Citizen-Centric Design.

This framework aligns with guidelines for enhancing government management quality and adheres to the Royal Decree on criteria and regulations for effective governance, catering to the public's needs, as encapsulated in the Ministry of Interior's oath: "Reducing Pain, Nurturing Happiness."
