Nokia’s collaboration with NTT drives Thai digital transformation through private wireless networking, unlocking efficiency and safety across sectors.

Nokia and NTT Ltd. have partnered to bring 5G private wireless solutions to Thailand, driving digital transformation across industries and boosting productivity, operational efficiency, and worker safety.

In a groundbreaking partnership, Nokia and NTT Ltd. have joined forces to bring private wireless networking solutions to over 3.2 million enterprises across Thailand. This collaboration aims to accelerate the country’s digital transformation, resulting in increased productivity, operational efficiency, and worker safety. Nokia’s 5G private wireless solutions will be deployed in multiple enterprise business parks, revolutionising critical applications and use cases in sectors such as manufacturing, mining, healthcare, and education, which are crucial to Thailand’s economy.

Private wireless networks are specifically designed to connect devices in remote or challenging industrial environments where Wi-Fi coverage is inadequate. These networks provide reliable high-bandwidth wireless connectivity, low latency, robust security, and flawless availability, making them essential for Industry 4.0 applications. The partnership between Nokia and NTT Ltd. will create an agile environment that enables enterprises across Thailand to fully leverage Industrial IoT, Machine Learning (ML), and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The collaboration incorporates a range of cutting-edge networking solutions from Nokia, including the Nokia Digital Automation Cloud (DAC) and the MX Industrial Edge (MXIE) platform, which facilitates network automation and industrial digitalisation. By combining NTT Ltd. and Nokia’s technological resources, enterprises in various industries in Thailand will gain access to an array of digital technologies offered as a service. These technologies will enable use cases such as digital twins for network monitoring and device management, real-time video analytics and machine vision, IoT streams, pre-integrated industrial devices, and an application catalogue.

Sutas Kongdumrongkiat, Chief Executive Officer of NTT Ltd. in Thailand, expressed that they’re very excited to expand their partnership with Nokia and deploy private wireless networks across multiple enterprise business parks in Thailand. This joint initiative will provide Thai industry access to the most advanced 5G technology and applications, enabling automation, robotics, and digital transformation solutions that drive productivity and efficiency, and keep workers safe.

Ajay Sharma, Head of Thailand and Cambodia at Nokia, highlighted the significance of digital transformation in achieving business growth and sustainability. He praised the agreement, which covers wireless, software, and infrastructure solutions from Nokia, as a means to accelerate the implementation and adoption of Industry 4.0 applications and use cases in Thai enterprises.

Raghav Sahgal, President of Cloud and Network Services at Nokia, commented on the collaboration’s alignment with the Thai Government’s digital transformation agenda. Sahgal also revealed plans to expand this initiative to other markets in the Asia Pacific and Japan region, aiming to drive economic growth.
