Krirk University Hosts Inaugural AIUA Accreditation Workshop

In a historic move, Krirk University convened the maiden Asian Islamic University Association (AIUA) workshop for University Accreditation, marking its significant stride in higher education excellence.

Krirk University has organised the Asian Islamic University Association workshop for the accreditation of the university for the first time ever.

Krirk University hosted the Asian Islamic University Association (AIUA) workshop for University Accreditation with the Islamic University in Asia. This is the first time it has been organised since its establishment in 2015 in Malaysia. Currently, there are 84 Universities in AIUA, and Krirk University is the latest member to join AIUA in 2023. The members have agreed to organise the Asian Islamic University Association workshop for University Accreditation for the first time in Bangkok on 12 September 2023.

Krirk University is a five-star QS ranking university and one of the top private universities in Thailand, where many students from China, Saudi Arabia (Muwallat), Myanmar, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Thailand are enrolled, with over 10,000 students on campus.

The workshop is a significant step that Krirk University, under the leadership of International Islamic College Bangkok, seeks the opportunity to enhance the quality accreditation of the University, along with 6 other Universities from Indonesia such as State Islamic Institute (IAIN) Kudus, Central Java, Raden Fatah State Islamic University, Palembang, Universitas Islam Negeri Fatnawati Sukarno, Bengkulu, Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Salatiga, Universitas Islam Negeri Raden Intan Lampung, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, 2 Universities from Malaysia, Sultan Ismail Petra International Islamic University College (KIAS) and Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Sultan Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah, Malaysia, and one from Thailand, Andaman Anatolian Technology College at Satun.

Prof. Dr. Krasae Chanawongse, President of Krirk University, emphasised that we are ready to support student mobility and enhance our quality by implementing academic collaboration within our university. Today, we are proud to say that Krirk University has been supported by the AIUA for both the workshop and the 1st International Conference of International Islamic College Bangkok under the title “Rethinking the Economic, Social, and Cultural Integration of the Islamic World in the Contemporary Era,” organised by the Muslim Studies Center, Institute of Asian Studies, Chulalongkorn University, and Andaman Institute of Technology and Asian Islamic University Association between 13 – 14 September 2023, for which many scholars from around the world have submitted their work for contribution to this conference.

Prof. Dr. Jaran Maluleem, Dean of the International Islamic College Bangkok (IICB), Krirk University, said, “Krirk University is not only the oldest private university in Thailand but also one of the most popular universities among Thai universities. In 2022, Krirk University reached the top 5 among the universities in Thailand in the QS ranking. Today, Krirk University is a full permanent member of AIUA, ensuring that, under the guidance of AIUA, IICB will become one of the top leading Islamic Business Colleges in Thailand."
