Krirk University Rises to 130th in QS Asia Rankings

Highlighting its commitment to academic excellence, Krirk University has climbed 19 positions in the QS Asia University Rankings 2024 and is now ranked 4th in Thailand.

Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) hosted the Higher Ed Summit: Asia Pacific in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on November 7, 2023. During the event, QS unveiled its latest Asia university rankings for 2024. Among the top 130 universities in Asia, four Thai institutions have secured a place, namely Chulalongkorn University, Mahidol University, Chiang Mai University, and Krirk University.

QS is a renowned global higher education research organisation known for its authoritative university rankings. The QS Asia University Rankings comprehensively evaluate universities' performance in teaching and research. Notably, the universities ranking in the top tier are historically funded by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation. Krirk University stands out as the only private university to secure a place within the top 130 in the QS Asia University Rankings for 2024. It also ranks 29th in Southeast Asia and holds the 4th position in Thailand.

QS underscores the significance of entering their rankings, stating, "With over 30,000 universities in the world, entering a QS ranking is no easy feat and is a sign that a university is providing a quality education to its students as well as producing meaningful research for the wider academic community. These institutions typically offer a comprehensive range of subjects to a high standard, and by entering our rankings are demonstrating to students that they are a solid option for a student's academic journey."

Krirk University's Art and Design Subject has achieved international recognition, securing the 35th position globally, 7th in Asia, and 1st in Thailand in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2023. This program is considered a standout offering at the university. Furthermore, Krirk University proudly holds a 5-star rating accredited by QS, a globally recognised international standard that assesses the educational and operational performance of higher education institutions on a scale ranging from 0 to 5 stars across eight categories. Remarkably, only three universities in Thailand, namely Krirk University, Mahidol University, and the Asian Institute of Technology, have been awarded the coveted 5-star rating.

Krirk University has consistently excelled in the ASEAN region, particularly in terms of student satisfaction with teaching and learning, and its commitment to internationalisation. The university's leaders, who participated in the QS Higher Education Asia-Pacific Summit, emphasised their dedication to further enhancing higher education excellence in Thailand and the region through both teaching and research initiatives. Dr. John Walsh, the Associate Dean of International College at Krirk University, was invited to deliver a speech at the summit, sharing insights on ranking methodologies and university development.
