NT Hosts "Sea of Light Party" for Global Partners

Showcasing its potential to become the top submarine cable provider

National Telecom Public Company Limited (NT) hosted the "NT Sea of Light Party" to welcome partners and representatives from telecommunications companies worldwide. The event served as a platform for exchanging business perspectives and fostering strong relationships while highlighting NT's position as the largest submarine cable provider in the country. This enchanting event took place in the heart of Bangkok at Gaysorn Urban Resort, Gaysorn Tower on November 15, 2023, where the underwater ambiance was illuminated by captivating night lights.

Mr. Seikson Mitkasem, Senior Executive Vice President (Marketing and Products) of National Telecom Public Co., Ltd. (NT), stated, "Currently, NT boasts a robust infrastructure in Thailand. We offer a diverse and reliable international network connection, solidifying our role as a submarine cable provider with direct links from Thailand to Europe, the United States, and key digital hubs in the Asia-Pacific region, including Singapore, China (Hong Kong), and Japan. We operate Thailand's largest system, comprising nine submarine cable routes. This expansion is geared towards meeting the increasing demand for international data communication by global businesses and accommodating the growth of services from global cloud providers, content providers, and OTTs."

NT presently operates nine submarine cable systems: SMW3, FLAG, TIS, SMW4, AAG, SJC, APG, AAE1, and the latest addition, ADC (ASIA Direct Cable), which leverages cutting-edge technology to offer speeds of 400 Gbps per wavelength. Its landing station in Thailand is located at Sriracha Station, Chon Buri Province, a mere 100 kilometres from Bangkok. This station is poised to connect Thailand and neighbouring countries in the CLMV area to crucial destinations in the region, such as Singapore, Hong Kong, and Japan. The project, with over 95 percent completion, is expected to be operational by the middle of 2024. It aligns with the plan to elevate the international Internet network into an ASEAN Digital Hub, supporting the Digital Park project as per Thailand's EEC (Eastern Economic Corridor) policy. This initiative lays the groundwork for tangible digital development, boosting the nation's economy and society.

Mr. Seikson emphasised, "The NT Sea of Light Party not only serves as a platform for discussing the telecommunications industry but also as an opportunity to build enduring friendships and strong business relationships with telecommunications companies worldwide, including leading content providers and OTTs. We believe that NT's experience and potential will create opportunities for sustainable growth together."

The event received a warm response from partners and leading telecommunications companies globally, including prominent content providers and OTTs. The evening was filled with fun and music, making it a truly memorable occasion.
