The Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), the Thai Chamber of Commerce (TCC), and Koelnmesse (KM) have unveiled the first edition of THAIFEX – HORECA ASIA 2024. This premier trade fair, focusing on the hotel, restaurant, and catering (HoReCa) industry, is set to take place from March 6 to 8, 2024, at Halls 9-12, IMPACT Muang Thong Thani in Bangkok. Anticipated to draw 20,000 global buyers, the event aims to position Thailand as the epicenter of the HoReCa industry in Asia.
Ms. Natiya Suchinda, Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Trade Promotion, remarked, "With the easing of COVID-19 restrictions and the resurgence of trade and tourism, we are witnessing a revival in the HoReCa sector. This upturn presents an excellent opportunity for Thailand, a country with substantial potential and strengths in hospitality and Thai-style service. Thailand's ability to offer high-quality products and services, coupled with innovative design, positions us to meet the diverse demands of the market effectively. Building on the success of the collaboration between the three organising parties in THAIFEX – ANUGA ASIA, we are confident THAIFEX – HORECA ASIA will pave the way for the future of the HoReCa industry and confirm Thailand as the hub of HoReCa businesses in Asia. The fair will showcase over 300 companies from 24 countries, including Thailand, across 722 booths and cover 27,000 square meters, featuring nine HoReCa segments: Bakery & Ice Cream, Cafe & Bar, Cleaning and Laundry, Dining, Furnishing, Kitchen, Services, Tech, and Wellness. We expect to attract 20,000 buyers and visitors worldwide.”
Mr. Sanan Angubolkul, Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, expressed his enthusiasm for THAIFEX – HORECA ASIA 2024, stating, "This event will open new business avenues for entrepreneurs in the HoReCa sector. With over 120 Thai companies participating in 270 booths, the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Participants are eager to display their innovations, creative designs, and products derived from local wisdom, enhancing international marketing opportunities. We welcome professionals, including hotel, resort, restaurant, and café owners, chefs, caterers, and businesspeople from the TCC network and beyond, to join us. This gathering will facilitate business negotiations and trade, creating value and contributing to the country's economic development over the long term."
Mr. Phusit Sasitaranondha, Executive Advisor of Koelnmesse Thailand, added, "Following the continued success of THAIFEX – ANUGA ASIA, this collaboration seeks to broaden our strategic product exhibition business to cater to the evolving needs of the hotel, restaurant, and catering sector. With 212 international companies from 23 countries participating in 452 booths, we are focusing on innovative products and services that meet the demands of modern HoReCa businesses, including AI-enhanced cooking solutions. The fair will also highlight six HoReCa trends: Sustainability, Contactless, Digital Guest Experience, Plant-Based Menu, Food Waste Management, and Energy Efficiency Solutions. The organising committee also highlighted exciting features of the event, such as the ASEAN Barista Team Championship, the Thailand Ultimate Housekeeping Challenge, and the THAIFEX – HOREC Xperiential Zone, showcasing innovative products that forecast future HoReCa trends. The THAIFEX – HOREC Academy will offer seminars, workshops, cooking demonstrations, and various engaging activities throughout the three-day event.
