Kazakhstan and Thailand Forge Closer Diplomatic Ties

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan meets with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand to bolster bilateral cooperation

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Murat Nurtleu, held discussions with Jakkapong Sangmanee, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, during a working visit to Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, on February 22, 2024.

Throughout the meeting, both parties deliberated on the current state and future prospects of Kazakh-Thai cooperation across various areas of mutual interest. Emphasis was placed on the collaborative efforts within regional and multilateral frameworks.

Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu underscored Kazakhstan's deep commitment to fostering bilateral relations with Thailand, highlighting Bangkok's significance as a key partner in Southeast Asia.

In response, Jakkapong Sangmanee expressed optimism regarding the evolving dynamics of bilateral relations, identifying Kazakhstan as Thailand's primary partner in Central Asia. Additionally, he extended an invitation from Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara, for a visit to Bangkok.

Both parties acknowledged substantial advancements in trade, tourism, agriculture, and healthcare sectors. Furthermore, they reached an agreement to continue collaborative efforts aimed at easing visa requirements for citizens of both nations.

Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu met with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, Jakkapong Sangmanee, in Astana during a working visit in Astana, capital of Kazakhstan, on February 22, 2024.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the current state and prospects of Kazakh-Thai cooperation on a wide range of issues of mutual interest. Special attention was paid to the interaction of countries within the framework of regional and multilateral cooperation.

Kazakh Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu noted that Kazakhstan attaches great importance to bilateral relations with Thailand and considers Bangkok as an important partner in the Southeast Asia.

In turn, Jakkapong Sangmanee gave a positive assessment of the dynamics of development of bilateral relations and said that Kazakhstan is the main partner of Thailand in Central Asia. He also conveyed the invitation of the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara to visit Bangkok.

The interlocutors noted significant progress in relations in the fields of trade, tourism, agriculture, and medicine. At the same time, the sides agreed to continue working together to ease visa requirements for citizens of the two countries.
