Supalai Revolutionises Sustainable Living with Huawei and ION Partnership

Supalai collaborates with Huawei and ION Energy to spearhead the solar-powered residences initiative, targeting 15,000 homes across Thailand by 2028, and underlining its commitment to environmental sustainability and innovation in real estate.

To mitigate the environmental impact of the real estate sector, Supalai Public Company Limited has formed partnerships with Huawei Technologies (Thailand) Co., Ltd., and ION Energy Corporation Limited. These collaborations aim to introduce advanced solar power and sustainable energy solutions across residential properties throughout Thailand. These efforts are part of Supalai's broader strategy to involve stakeholders in environmental improvement activities, supporting long-term goals aligned with the company’s commitment to sustainability.

Mr. Traitecha Tangmatitham, Managing Director of Supalai Public Company Limited, stated, “The real estate sector significantly affects the environment. Committed to sustainability, we are targeting a 40% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030. Our strategy includes a wide-ranging plan to adopt clean energy in homes, aiming for substantial environmental impact and helping our residents enjoy truly energy-efficient living. By installing solar panels in 15,000 homes by 2028, we advance towards a sustainable future. We’re also developing a project to set up clean energy infrastructure across over 29 provinces, representing more than 30% of Thailand. This project is expected to produce 82,300 megawatts of electricity and cut greenhouse gas emissions by 49,300 tons of CO2 equivalent—akin to planting 3.2 million trees. Moreover, Supalai residents could save between 20,000 to 30,000 baht annually on electricity bills. In the future, our SABAI app will further enhance the monitoring and management of electricity production.”

Mr. Kittipong Sirilakatrakul, Deputy Managing Director of Supalai Public Company Limited, added, “We recognise the trend among consumers for sustainable and eco-friendly living solutions. In response, we have developed innovative construction and design solutions in collaboration with our partners to improve our product quality. Our aim is to offer Supalai homes as ‘homes that preserve the planet,’ catering to the lifestyle preferences of the younger generation through five main customer-centric pillars. We are proud to lead the sustainable living movement and are excited to continue paving the way for eco-conscious living.”

The Five Main Customer-Centric Pillars Include:

Innovation for Environmental Management: Supalai has launched the "Supalai Self-Proved" campaign, inviting customers to verify the environmental benefits of the company’s construction innovations through the ‘Supalai Waste Meter’. This device tracks construction waste, ensuring it remains below established standards. Supalai’s commitment to innovation is evident in its use of eco-friendly building materials, reduction of waste, and efforts to minimise air pollution. Collaborations with industry partners like SCG, TOA, DOS, and CPAC have been instrumental in creating materials that not only meet customer needs but are also available for public purchase.

Supalai's Energy-Efficient Homes: Reflecting Supalai’s ‘Innovative Design for Sustainable Living’ ethos, the design of its homes includes a north-south orientation to reduce sun exposure and enhance natural ventilation. The strategic placement of doors and windows facilitates optimal airflow, while temperature-regulating materials contribute to the homes’ energy efficiency. Supalai’s designs have garnered recognition for their energy efficiency, including the use of appliances and air conditioning units that carry the Energy Star label.

Universal Design Solutions for All Ages and Abilities: Supalai ensures the comfort and safety of all residents, with a focus on functional designs that accommodate individuals of all ages and abilities. Features that support seniors and people with disabilities include ground-floor bedrooms with non-slip floors and threshold-free sliding doors. Accessibility features, such as reduced height differences and user-friendly door handles, are standard, promoting wheelchair accessibility throughout.

Clean Energy Revolution: Supalai is committed to a significant reduction in its carbon footprint, aiming for a 40% reduction by 2030. This includes installing solar panels and EV chargers in over 15,000 homes nationwide. The Supalai Grand Tower, with its 450kW solar panel system, exemplifies Supalai’s commitment, generating substantial electricity savings and reducing carbon emissions. The installation of solar panels in sales offices and central facilities further demonstrates Supalai’s dedication to lowering common area fees and promoting sustainability.

Reducing Carbon Emissions: Beyond constructing sustainable residential projects, Supalai supports national greenhouse gas reduction policies through various sustainability initiatives. These include tree planting, the switch to organic fertilizers, and promoting the reuse of clothing and other items among staff and construction workers. Green loans are another tool Supalai uses to encourage sustainable living among its customers.

In a bold step for the real estate industry, Supalai has partnered with Huawei Technologies (Thailand) and ION Energy Corporation Limited to champion environmental responsibility and sustainable living. This partnership aims to position Supalai as the leading provider of solar homes in Thailand, starting with the installation of solar panels in 1,500 homes. This initiative not only offers cost-effective electricity but also contributes to greenhouse gas reduction. Support services will ensure optimal system performance and educate customers on the benefits of clean energy.

Mr. Logan Yu, President of Huawei Thailand Digital Power Business, expressed Huawei's commitment to promoting clean energy in Thailand, in collaboration with industry leaders. The partnership will support Supalai's projects with technological and academic resources, enhancing solar energy adoption across the nation.

Together, Huawei, Supalai, and ION Energy are dedicated to advancing environmental sustainability and energy management, serving as a model for the continuous development and improvement of Thailand’s real estate sector. ION Energy will oversee the installation of solar power systems, ensuring a reliable and sustainable electricity supply.

As a global leader in digital power technology, Huawei has implemented its energy solutions in over 170 countries, underscoring the importance of solar power generation, energy storage, application, and the safety of solar power conversion equipment. Huawei is committed to promoting the installation of solar panels for both businesses and households in Thailand, aiming for a significant reduction in carbon emissions in line with the country's carbon neutrality goals. This initiative aligns with Huawei's mission to 'Grow in Thailand, contribute to Thailand,' fostering a brighter digital future.

Pongsapak Nakornsri, Chairman of ION Energy Corporation Limited (ION), a leading provider of comprehensive clean energy solutions for residential, real estate, and medium-sized businesses, stated: "ION recognises the global shift towards renewable energy sources, especially solar power. With the goal of achieving Net Zero and fostering a sustainable future, there's a growing trend for installing solar roofs, particularly among residential customers. This trend is partly driven by rising electricity costs due to fluctuations in production and purchasing costs, leading to higher electricity bills. Additionally, this shift contributes to an increase in greenhouse gas emissions, further exacerbating global warming. Opting for clean energy sources is vital for collective efforts to benefit society and the environment."

Understanding the critical role of solar power in real estate projects, ION partnered with Supalai for this initiative. This collaboration has earned Huawei's trust, leading to a joint effort among the companies to design and install solar roofs for Supalai's residential projects. The installations feature Tier 1 solar panels, Huawei Inverters, and premium electrical cables from Bangkok Cable Company, ensuring that the solar power systems meet Supalai's high standards for quality and efficiency. This partnership aims to set a new benchmark for solar power system installations in Supalai's residential projects.

For customers seeking energy-efficient or solar-ready homes, Supalai's upcoming projects offer an exciting opportunity. Set to launch this year, these projects include single houses, townhouses, duplexes, home offices, and condominiums* across Thailand (terms and conditions apply).
