The Tambon Administrative Organisation (TAO) of Wang Maprang in Trang has invested 120 million baht to upgrade facilities at the viewpoint of Wang Pha Mek mountain.

The tourist attraction is a popular spot for viewing the sea of fog and the sunrise over the mountain range. Located in Wang Wiset district, Wang Pha Mek is about a 40-minute drive from the city. To reach the mountaintop, visitors need to negotiate a 600m forest trail, which can take about an hour.

Visitors can start hiking to the mountaintop from 4.30am, for those who wish to see rolling mists before sunrise, until late afternoon for those who want to see the sunset.

To facilitate visitors, the TAO of Wang Maprang has upgraded the dirt road leading to the foothill of the Wang Pha Mek mountain into an asphalt road and renovated the viewpoint platform at the mountaintop. It also upgraded public facilities at the foothill including toilets and parking lots as well as a garden zone, where it erected sculptures of dinosaurs, elephants and fish as well as an artificial waterfall.
