A graduate with high distinction from the Staatliche Musikhochschule Freiburg, Germany, Wong completed his master's degree under full scholarship from the Kobler Trust and a Barbara Stringer Scholarship at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, UK.

He was the first prize winner at the Oxford Music Festival 2010 and has given concerts in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, Taiwan, China, Japan, Brunei, Germany, Holland, Switzerland and the UK.

Kartal, meanwhile, has performed with world-renowned performers such as Renata Scotto, Janos Starker, Leonidas Kavakos, Steven Doane, Edgar Meyer, Rinaldo Alessandrini, Dave Brubeck and Luciano Pavorotti.
